What an absolutely excellent five-book series. The story ends on a cliffhanger—what a tease!—and we all wish the author was still with us to write a sequel or two.
Sadly, some literary mysteries will never be solved. Did Jon’s story go anywhere? What was the deal with the White Walkers? Did Daenerys ever make it to Westeros? Bold choice to end on multiple cliffhangers and simply trust that readers would be okay with never learning what happened next. I suppose we’ll just have to use our imaginations.
At least the fandom has handled the lack of closure with grace, patience, and emotional maturity over the last fourteen years.
